Rob Brouwers began his plumbing career in 1977, gaining hands-on experience across all areas of plumbing and drainage through the family business. In 1990, he founded Rob Brouwers Plumbing Services, focusing on general plumbing, maintenance, and contract work for new homes and commercial developments. Rob played a key role in designing and constructing plumbing systems for a wide range of projects.
During this time, he identified a growing need for specialist services in backflow prevention. In 2003, Rob became fully endorsed in the installation, testing, and maintenance of Backflow Prevention Devices and Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)—laying the foundation for the company’s future direction.
In 2017, Chris Cooper joined the business, initially managing maintenance clients before shifting his focus to backflow testing and certification. Under Rob’s mentorship, Chris honed his skills in this specialised field.
When Rob retired in mid-2025, Chris and his wife Bec proudly took over the business, committed to continuing its legacy of quality, trust, and technical expertise.
Chris has since tested, certified, and maintained thousands of devices across South East Queensland. Today, the company remains dedicated to delivering outstanding service with a highly skilled and experienced team.
